Sonrisas is Walla Walla’s first Spanish Immersion Preschool.
Sonrisas provides a unique learning environment where children are primarily exposed to Spanish language and Hispanic culture. This approach promotes early language acquisition, allowing children to develop fluency in Spanish. By immersing themselves in a Spanish-speaking environment, children have the opportunity to learn the language naturally, just as they would acquire their native tongue.
Children are exposed to various aspects of Hispanic culture, including music, art, literature, foods and traditions. This exposure helps them to understand and appreciate different perspectives, fostering empathy, tolerance, and an open mindset. Additionally, bilingualism has been shown to enhance cognitive development, problem-solving skills and creativity.

Sonrisas is Walla Walla’s very first Spanish Immersion Preschool. We’ll be welcoming kids to our inaugural class this fall in our brand-new classroom. While our standard of care will be exceptional, what has pushed us forward is knowing that we will provide children in our area with an opportunity to develop a second language and begin to bridge the cultural gap in our community. We’re thrilled to begin inspiring little minds, one sonrisa at a time!
